Fair Lawn police were flooded with 911 calls around 4 p.m., reporting the bizarre crash on Langan Court. The SUV was attempting to park when it suddenly went airborne, landing squarely on top of the parked sedan.

Emergency crews from the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad stabilized the precariously positioned SUV, allowing its shaken driver to safely exit. Fortunately, she was unharmed and evaluated on the scene by the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Loving said.

A hydraulic lift tow truck carefully removed the SUV from the sedan, while a flatbed tow truck winched away the damaged car. Police believe the incident was caused by the SUV driver accidentally hitting the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The Fair Lawn Police Department is investigating the crash. Despite the dramatic scene, no injuries were reported.
